When Storck's confectionery factory was founded, master confectioner Gustav Nebel developed the finest candy of his career. This candy was made with fresh cream, real butter, white and brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Gustav Nebel named his masterpiece Werther's Original after his beloved hometown. To this day, Werther's Original, the classic cream candy, is still made according to the original recipe.
